2008 Jim Snead Memorial Scholarship Winners

The Anchorage Air Cargo Association announced the award winners of the Jim Snead Memorial Scholarships for 2008 at their 30th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Scholarship Luncheon in May. Scholarships were presented by Almarene Snead, who serves as the honorary chair of the annual scholarship awards committee. This year’s award winners are Heather Engstrom -Anchorage, Athena Moore – Anchorage, Francis Prince, Jr – Sitka, Hannah Schlosstein – Anchorage, Kelsey Seybert – Anchorage and Eric Van Oss – Homer. The scholarships purpose is to advance student’s education at the post-secondary levels in air cargo and transportation in Alaska.
Also recognized at this year’s luncheon was one of the original founders of the Anchorage Cargo Association, Bill Brooks who has been instrumental in supporting and encouraging the association throughout its entire 30 years as it supported commerce and community contributions such as the scholarship program and Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum.
